Our Volunteers
By the numbers
In the last year, we have hauled out over 1,000 cubic yards of brush from debris left by Tropical Storm Hilary, invasive weeds, and overgrowth along the trails.
In 2024, we rehabilitated the Education Center with treatment for termites, replacement of deteriorating wood, and reroofed the building with a modern foam system.
We purchase over $1,600 of quality bird seed annually for the feeders at the Education Center.
Our Volunteers provided over 9,000 hours each year maintaining the facility and working with visitors.
Our volunteer education docents teach more than 500 school children on elementary school field trips to the preserve each school year.

How you can help
Donate
You can donate online or mail funds to us at PO Box 780, Morongo Valley, CA 92256. Our EIN is 93-1168833.
Volunteer
The preserve is operated almost entirely by volunteers. If you can speak to visitors, maintain trails, teach children, or work in a garden, there’s a job you can fill. Learn more.
Make a tribute
You can make a donation as a tribute to some person or organization you wish to honor.
Leave a legacy
One way to help strengthen a non-profit organization is to leave a legacy in your will or trust. These donations build a long term base of funds that carries us through bad times and emergencies.
Recycle your cans
We accept recyclable cans and bottles that we redeem for cash. Drop off your recycling in the recycle container by the kiosk or in the bins next to the shed at the west end of the parking lot.
Make an IRA or Directed Fund distribution
to gain tax benefits.
